Today GeneralFilms LLC, the production company that produced PerfectMatch signed an agreement with a sales agent.

What the heck-fire is a sales agent, one might ask? These fine people take lovingly crafted films that have not yet found a home in the pantheon of distribution and, well, find them a home with one or more distributors who will, with luck and love, build interest in the film and ultimately set it free into the world to delight audiences and perhaps, if we've done our jobs right, spark thoughtful conversation in the local coffee house or in the living room around the tele or betwixt two (or more) people sauntering down a tree-lined boulevard.

At the moment, this means that the film is not available to be seen publicly. But fret not, as we hope that it will be available very soon.

So think good thoughts for our film and our new sales agent and perhaps make a wish upon a star, or two.

After four years of loving (sometimes crazy) work and effort by a small band of incredibly committed artists and supporters, PerfectMatch is available online for all to see (at least in the US and Great Britain). We are all so very happy to see this moment finally arrive. The film was officially let loose into the wild today at 7:03 AM Eastern Standard Time. It seems to be doing well, slowly becoming acclimated to its new surroundings and making fast friends of other nearby films. If you have a little time on your hands you might enjoy giving it a watch. It's available to rent for only $1 this week.

Filmmaking, like other arts, is not an exact science. It is a path fraught with pitfalls, bumps, roadblocks and above all, spectacular failure. But along this path, if one makes it to the end in one piece, there is often a moment in which all of the stumbles along the way gain a certain amount of sparkle, a modicum of insightful delight - perhaps that is a definition of perspective (okay, no, it's not literally a definition of perspective, but just go along with us on this one). It is perspective that allows us to look back on the nutty bits, the bits tossed aside to make way for better bits, and see them as little gems of learning, of delight and of inspiration.

To this end, today we've added the first in a series of outtakes (there will be more and other "outtake-like" bits to come) to the website. So, if you have a moment, pop on over to the Outtake section and have a gander and take a moment to revel in our failure, our future inspiration, our little bits of nuttiness.

They're right over here.

It has been a long time in coming, but we finally have permission from the good folks at PerfectMatch.com (the online dating site) to keep the film's name and references to our fictitious online dating company. The story of how we had permission, lost permission and regained it once again is a long and complicated one, but we are so very happy it is over. We are preparing the film for internet release now and hope to have it online for your viewing pleasure sometime this summer.
